Who Makes Craftsman Openers?

Craftsman garage door openers were originally manufactured by The Chamberlain Group and rebranded for Sears stores. These models have "139" as a prefix to the model number. The company's Chamberlain , LiftMaster and Craftsman lines of garage door openers have certain parts that are interchangeable. Craftsman openers with a model number starting with “200” are manufactured by Guardian , which took over the name in 2018.

How Can I Find a Replacement Part for My Craftsman Garage Door Opener?

Finding the model number for the garage door opener To start, locate the model number for your Craftsman opener by looking on the opener label. How Do You Program a Craftsman Garage Door Remote?

Garage door remotes are programmed either by a “smart button” or by a dip switch (a panel where you move switches to an up or down position). Scan the motor unit of your opener to see which programming system you have. Programming a smart button opener To program a Craftsman garage door opener and remote, look on the motor unit near the terminal strip and wire connections for the “smart button” – a square button that’s green, red, purple or yellow (it might be labeled “learn”). (If you see a circular yellow button, your opener is a Guardian unit; here’s a video for programming your Guardian garage door opener .) Press and release the smart button. The nearby indicator light will glow for 30 seconds. During that time, press and hold the button on your handheld remote. When the indicator light blinks on the motor unit, release the remote button. This indicates that the unit has learned the code. Youll hear two clicks and see the lights flash. Programming a dip switch opener Some Chamberlain remotes are programmed using a matching dip switch panel on both the opener and the remote. How Do You Program a Craftsman Keyless Entry System?

Need to know how to program a Craftsman garage door opener keypad? Security Plus and Wireless Keyless Entry Systems are a little different than programming a typical remote. After pressing the smart button (see directions above), enter your four-digit PIN within 30 seconds. Then press and hold the keypad's enter button. When the light on the motor unit blinks, release the button. That’s it! Do Craftsman Garage Door Openers Have a Lifetime Warranty?

According to the Craftsman website, their Craftsman garage door openers have an in-home, limited warranty of three years for parts and 10 years for the motor. However, the length of warranty may vary. For the first 90 days from the sale date, the unit is warrantied against any defects in materials or workmanship. Proof of sale must be presented for free repair or, if it can't be repaired, free replacement. From 90 days until three years, if any part is found to be defective, it will be replaced for free. Cost of installation is not included. The motor is guaranteed up to 10 years from the sale date. If it is found to be defective, it will be replaced for free, not including installation cost. This warranty does not include light bulbs or parts that are necessary due to operator negligence or abuse, or to interference.
