About Garage Door Thresholds

Action Industries thresholds complete a garage door’s protection against outdoor threats like pests, weather, and debris. After all weather seals are installed, the threshold fortifies the bottom seal and the space between the ground and the overhead door. A threshold along with weather seals can save money on energy bills, and it's a great home improvement project to add an extra barrier of protection. All Action Industries thresholds are made in the United States to ensure you get the best quality. We have Storm Shield, Excalibur, and Storm Shield 2 to provide you with options to best suit your customers’ doors.

Aluminum Excalibur

Our Excalibur threshold is made of tough, solid aluminum. This allows it to protect the inside of commercial facilities, while also staying strong against the constant weight of vehicles driving over it all day. This threshold won’t deform, shift, buckle, or leak. It’s perfect for wear and tear environments, resistant to anything you throw at it. This is optimal for cutting down on maintenance costs too.

The Excalibur has a V-Groove design specialized for skid-proofing and higher tire traction for plenty of traffic. It stands out as the threshold for industrial applications and durability with sturdy 6061-T6 aluminum. The bottom of the Excalibur also has wire access to install sensors or security wires for the facility for even more protection. The wires run through channels on the underside which are extruded in the aluminum. This technique allows for cross-sectional shapes in the metal that can support higher loads, making it extra strong and stable.

Storm Shield

The Storm Shield threshold is the original Action Industries threshold and among the oldest on the market. Our original Storm Shield has protected doors from the outside elements for years and has proven reliable. The threshold is made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), a type of plastic that is flexible, durable, and versatile. The threshold comes in convenient kits that give you all of the materials required for installation. It is installed simply with a caulk gun, endures extreme temperatures, and has a two-year warranty. The glue for the Storm Shield has been tested extensively and will stick the threshold to the ground.

Storm Shield 2

The Storm Shield 2 threshold is made of PVC, just like Storm Shield. These thresholds can resist oil, gas, and antifreeze. Storm Shield 2 meets California Fire Marshal and CPAI-84 requirements for flame resistance. The material has been tested and certified safe. This threshold, like the original Storm Shield, works for guarding commercial or residential doors.

It is extremely easy to install with a peel and stick backing that eliminates glue and other adhesives. The only steps to installing the threshold are removing the backing from the threshold and sticking it onto the floor.
