CHAIN HOIST INSTALLATION:

Shaft Mounted Units (1:1, JR-ST, JR-RD, JRG):

  1. Install the unit onto the door shaft.
  2. Align the sprocket mounted to the rolling door on JR-RD or the sprocket on JR-ST with the small 9-tooth sprocket.
  3. Secure the unit from sliding along the shaft with set screws and shaft collars as needed (use shaft keys where applicable).
  4. Install the roller chain on JR-ST or JR-RD, using the connector link to split and reconnect the chain.
  5. Install the bracket to the wall on JR-ST or JRG, if desired, to keep the unit from swinging.

All Units:

  1. Thread the hand chain around the pocket wheel and let it hang (additional chain may be needed for doors taller than 14 feet or for vertical or high lift doors).
  2. Adjust the length of the chain so that the loop hangs about 1 foot off the floor.
  3. Open and close a link on the hand chain to complete the loop, using two sets of pliers.
  4. Install the chain keeper on the wall at a reasonable height and location, ensuring the chain is clear of the opening when engaged in the keeper.
  5. Sprocket 41B40 spacing from hole to hole is 3.897 inches (3-57/64 inches) on a 4-1/2 inch bolt circle. Each bushing is on a 120º arc.
