The 351426 Single Spring Winding Assembly is an essential part of ensuring that your spring is wound properly. The cable drum sits flush against the Right End Bracket and during the winding process locks with the Winding ratchet gear. This prevents the spring from returning to its unwound state. This mechanism also acts as a failsafe to keep the spring from causing injury to the installer.
